Carl Ellis Corley Corralls the 2A 3200m Title

AA- After a hard fought 1600m race Thursday, the ? looming was did Carl Ellis Corley from Bleckley County reserve some fuel for the 3200m race ? Jack Douglass of Pace Academy took the lead early with the leaders splitting a respectable 1:15 lap 1. Corley hung back comfortably in 3rd on lap 2 as the field deteriorated quickly, though a group of 7 runners stayed in contact up front. However, on lap 4 that group began to break up leaving 4 runners splitting 4:59 at the 1600 mark. Corley moved up a spot into 2nd as lap 5 began, as the pace began to quicken with only 3 guys still in contention. Like clockwork, Lovett's Nicholas Klavohn dropped off the pace and it was mano o' mano the final 800m. Corley moved in front of Douglass with 700m left w/ Jack content with drafting Carl for a while. But Corley's 'Middle GA Running Mafia's magic began to work as he extended his lead to 10m before the gun lap. Both runners passed others on their final lap w/ Corley cruising, taking a much deserved win at 9:44.02, with Douglass 2nd in 9:47 followed by Nicholas Klavohn of Lovett at 10:07.
