2A Boys State Meet Preview

On paper, Wesleyan sure looks like the favorite, and one item they do not possess in their school trophy case is a Boys State Track championship. Leading the way for the Wolves may be football star Jordan Mack who ran well in the short sprints at Sectionals. Jalen Hodges is a threat to score well in 3 events, Clay Patrick was #1 out of Sectionals in the 300h and their relay squads had both top times as well from there.

Holy Innocents' fortunes may lie on how well they do in the 400 and 800m races behind Braxton Lindley, Zack Henry and Ziggy Zoller. Ben Davies had the top time out of Sectionals in the 1600, but that race is going to be a barnburner between Everett Smulders of Lovett and Bleckley's Carl Ellis Corley...Vidalia took a horrible hit at Sectionals with Nathan McBride pulling a hammy, possibly costing them up to 26-28 points, but they remain in the hunt for a Podium spot behind Shon Jones and Tyquan Powell. Early County is a Podium contender thanks to Javian Williams horizontal prowess and 100m runner Elliott Moses. On the outside looking in are Rabun County, led by thrower Charlie Woerner and distance runner Guy Gober. Temple, Fitzgerald and Bleckley will fight for a high placing.
