Coach Daley ReCap

The 5th Annual Coach Daley Invite course was lengthened a bit for this Fall and the flat layout didn't yield so many quick times as in the past. West Forsyth won the Girls team race and Sophia West of Paideia took the Overall win in 19:47. John Green of West Forsyth (not full team strength) was Boys Overall winner and McIntosh grabbed team honors. (Photos and Caps by Daniel McCauley)

Girls Race- The Varsity Girls race did not have the drama the Boys race had, although the 'rabbit' did get a little far too far out in front of the leader at one juncture, causing a mixed turn that was quickly self-corrected by race winner Sophia West from Paideia. Sophomore West won her first GHSA invitational ever posting a 19:47 never letting runnerup Betty Jackson of Eagle's Landing get in contact early on. Jackson had a fine race going 20:07 on a course that suited her 800m speed.

Megan Uszynski posted a time in the JV Girls race of 20:59.88. This would have been good enough for a top ten placing in the Varsity Girls race. So, why was Megan in the JV race? She's an 8th grader! A really fast 8th grader! (photo by Daniel McCauley)
