The AAA 1600 race may have been the tightest of the evening with 7 athletes going sub 4:28 with a Split of 6.74. That group stayed in touch for nearly 3 laps until Chase Kennedy, Daniel Ellis and Chandler Kennedy had a small gap on the now final lap chase pack. Ellis overtook Kennedy with 300m to go. Kennedy tried to make several moves with Ellis answering each one, holding a slight lead as they raced down the homestretch. I did not have an angle to determine if Kennedy had pulled even, but he lost balance almost stumbling across the line just behind Ellis (both in 4:21 (-.33) Chandler Kennedy was a strong 3rd in 4:23 followed by: Robby Gipson of Blessed Trinity (4:25), Connor Tinaglia of Decatur (4:26), Graham Huff of Westminster (4:26) and Michael Hans from Oconee County (4:27)
