98 boys took off at the gun representing 14 full scoring teams out to grab some glory in the biggest race of their lives. Its never a surprise that a couple of runners come out of the woodwork so to speak as contenders in A Public at State as they race in near obscurity all season long.  It took transferring from GISA for WACO's Jacob Burgamy to get his day in the Sun Saturday and now these athletes had their audition.  But, who woulda thunk that 5 points would separate the top 3 schools?  Not many I surmise.  Irving Rendon of Morris Innovative High School earned a well deserved win in the 1A Public Boys race.  Rendon led the race from start to finish and won by 11 seconds with his time of 18:56.43. Alex Dillard #449 of Claxton worked his way past Austin Wagner #1137 of Jenkins County to earn the Silver medal.  Jenkins County did not take well to our Final Pre-State rankings and put in some hard work winning the A Public boys title (even after losing their star Mark Brannen to graduation) led by Austin Wagner's 8th place effort defeating Towns County by 4 points with NW Ga school Trion just 1 measley point back of Towns.

Adan Martinez #999 of Hawkinsville battled with Ethan Young of Trion.  Young made his move in the final 50 meters to take the Bronze medal.
