Warpath Invitational- Blazing Times Rule the Day
GIRLS

The girls ran first and saw a lead group of Emma Grace Hurley (FCS) Morgan Ilse (Marist) Savannah Carnahan (S Forsyth), Jenna Gearing (White), and Kingsley Green (Etowah) pack run the first mile together in around 5:40. Emma Grace quickened the pace in her 2nd mile and took Morgan Ilse with her for awhile before leaving the field entirely. Ilse reeled her back in late and almost closed the gap, but Hurley finished her beautiful run with a nice 17:26 on the clock. Carnahan held on for 3rd overall in 18:05 with Jenna Gearing a few strides back in 18:12 (4th) with Kingsley Green 5th at 18:15.
In the team race, Marist was ridiculous, doing serious work in their 3rd mile and packing in 5 girls in the top 20. Their team score of 45 looked nice compared to South Forsyth (85) and Etowah (93). Roswell and White County rounded out the top 5. By the way, the Marist girls JV team averaged 21:16. They deep.
BOYS
Frank Pittman of Marist and Kell's Logan Poteet take it out early at Boling Park
The boys individual race was the Logan Poteet (Kell) show. He took the first mile out alone (4:55ish) and braved the course by himself, bettering his time from last year with a 15:34. His best challenge came from Frank Pittman (Marist), who ran a great race and worked at chopping Poteet down but couldn't get him reeled in. 15:45 for 2nd place isn't a bad day on the course. Pickens County ace Sean Parker sure looked healthy again taking 3rd place in 16:08 edging Ryan Peck of Wheeler (16:09) Michael Perona rounded out the top 5 in 16:13 making it a 'P' sweep in the Boys Individual standings.
Forsyth Central made a statement after dropping in the 5A Rankings last week.
In the boys team race, Forsyth Central turned some serious heads today. They have come a long ways the last couple of years and with their 101 pts today defeated XC powerhouses Etowah (119) and Marist (152). Roswell and South Forsyth rounded out the top 5.
