Jefferson Crows Lake MS Challenge Meet Summary
MS BOYS
The competition got underway with top 10 MS boys (Varsity) and Marist made the long trip worth it scoring 38 points placing 3 runners in the top ten including Overall winner Leif Andersen who posted a 12:21, Dan Devlin was 5th (12:28) and Edward Bonhomme took 8th (13:11) Jefferson MS ran well as a team placing 2nd led by Josh Larkins' 12th place finish.
Dawson Frey from Oglethorpe County was 2nd overall 15-20 meters behind Anderson in 12:24. Rounding out the top 5 were Alan Jiminez from Habersham MS (12:47) sparking a 3rd place team finish and Bailey Hunter from Buford MS (12:48)
MS GIRLS
The defending MS State Champs (Marist) made it look easy as the War Eagles were just too strong and deep (sound familiar) for the competition. Marist's girls scored 3 points less than their boys squad at 35, with host Jefferson team runnerups with 88 and Team Fusion 3rd. For Marist, Eva Wirtz (7th grader, could be WE 4A ROWs sister Josie Wirtz?) placed 2nd in 13:53 with teamate Annie Magee a step back in 13:54.
The story of the day may be Prince Avenue's Madison Britt who won the overall title clocking a 13:47 winning by 30 meters. Piper Kay led Team Fusion placing 4th in 13:59 while bringing up 5th place was Payton Johnson from Hebron Christian (14:20)
