Georgia Athletes Shine at USATF JO National Championships
Tia Jones of Full Throttle (file photo-Lane 3) again was a star in the Youth Girls division winning double Golds.
There were 6 Gold Medalists in the Youth Divison including multi-Gold winners Tia Jones, Daloria Boone and Sterling Lester. Rainey Anderson won gold in the 100 hurdles (13.53) and Jeremiah Pierce from Carrollton Track took Gold in the Youth Boys Discus (161-9). Brian Herron from Flight 400 is the 13-14 National Champ in the 400m in 50.59. The Baldwin Lightning-Jets won the Girls 4x100 relay in 48.05. Jones of Full Throttle displayed her talents again, easily winning the 200m in 24.62 and 100h in 13.83. Boone from Baldwin Lightning-Jets won the 100m (12.04) and had a devastating LJ mark of 19-10. Sterling Lester from Marietta Track had a tremendous meet winning the Youth Girls Multis, 400m dash (54.62) and taking 4th in the 100h.

9 Gold medals are coming back to Ga from the Intermediate divison (15-16) Rising soph Candace Hill continued to shine winning 2 Golds in the Intermediate Girls 100/200m dashes and anchored Dynamic Speed's 4x100 to a razor close 2nd place finish. Serenity Douglas took a Gold in the 400m dash and Bronze in the 200m race. Carson Dingler cleared 12-7 taking PV Gold competing unattached. Kamryn Brinson slung the Hammer 152-4 seizing 1st place for Throw1deep Club. Erin Marsh won the 400m Hurdles for the Jackrabbit TC clocking a 1:00.64. Denzel Harper of Quicksilver TC won the LJ earlier in the week with a leap of 23-4 while teamate Khalfani Green swooped in and stole Gild in the 800m in 1:55.03. The Star Track boys won the Intermediate 4x100 in a blazin' 41.41.

In the Young M/W division (17-18) 5 Golds were achieved including a relay win by the Titans Girls in the 4x400m with an amazing time of 3:39.49! Rising sr Jeremy McDuffie of Shiloh HS wilbring back medals of each mineral as he took Gold in his specialty the 110h (14.03), a Silver in the TJ (49-0) and a Bronze in the 400h. Georgia men Ryan Clark won Gold in the 200m in 20.98 (-2.98 wind), but had an amazing 20.82! in the prelims. Quintaveon Poole from Washington County broke the 47 barrier in the 400m dash as he flew around the oval in 46.92! Mary Terry from North Oconee HS tied for 1st in the HJ with a bar of 5-6.
