It was nothing but a race for 2nd and beyond as Morgan Ilse pulled away and added another distance title to her resume clocking a 10:54 for the win. It did not hurt Marist that frosh Kendall Nelson placed 2nd in 11:34, giving the war eagles a perhaps insurmountable lead after 1600 finals Friday
 
Field Events 
 
Marist had the type of day one expected putting 38 points on the board from the Field, while a resurgent Monroe-Albany squad tallied 28 to stay in touch before the 3200m finals.  Teamwise Eastside is 3rd with 16 points and Grady 4th with 14 points.  Bailey Weiland won her final HS HJ competition clearing 5-8.  An unexpected surprise happened in the  PV as Anne Marie Simoneauxwon  the  event on misses clearing 10-0 and teamate Bria Ceaser placed 3rd at 9-6 (16 points)  Thrower Kamryn Brinson scored a couple of Bronze medals in the Disc/Shot adding 12 more.  Hometown Monroe was sparked by Jahari Williams as she won the LJ in 18-2, but the other 18 came from throwers as Ashley Harrell had a pair of  2nd place finishes going 121-5 in the Discus and 38-2 in the Shot.  Courtney Bennett from liberty Co. won the Discus with a mark of 122-09. Nyla Woods of Grady ended her HS c areer with a Gold in the Shot with a mark of 39-9
 
Prelims
 
Redan had the fastest 4x100m time of the day clocking a 47.91, Woodland-Stockbridge, Fayette and Shaw are all in the finals Saturday.  Brehanna Mahone from Shaw clocked a 57.76 in the 400m prelims.   Jahari Williams continued to excel with the top 100m time of the day in 12.04    Chinyere Njoku of Fayette did the same in the 100h going 14.10 and sports the best 300h time at 44.10    Jillian Sloane of WD-Stockbridge won her heat of the 800 in 2:20.77, but Caitie Faust and Gabby Bowen from Marist ran comfortable 2:21s. Fayette, Redan, Marist, Monroe Alb. and Woodland Stockbridge gave us a great preview of what's to come in the 4x400m relay in Fianls
