Hello all,
Yesterday was another nice day in San Diego. The
athletes came to the course to do a walkthrough and
practice run. The announcer practiced introducing the
runners. The whole scene was great to see all of
these top athletes going through workouts. The course
was almost finished except for the paint drying for
many of the logos. They still have to wet some of the
course as it was very dusty during the beginning of
the walkthrough.
After spending some time on the course, the kids got a
picnic lunch and some free time back at the Hotel del.
Later that night, we were privileged to have a forum
with the Nike athletes that were brought in to be
honorary captains (the Gouchers, Culpepper, Abdi,
Lauren Fleshman, Matt Tegenkamp and a few others).
The panel spoke about and answered questions regarding
their training experiences, the change from high
school to college, their decisions to go professional,
best runs ever, pre-race meals, weekly mileage and
even a marriage proposal from Steve Murdock of the
Northeast to Lauren Fleshman....
Anyways, it was a early night for the runners as their
bedtime was 8:45-9 PM. We\'re all looking forward to a
great race on Saturday. Hope y\'all are watching on
the webcast tomorrow!
