Milton XC Course Shows it Teeth as Roswell Boys, Centennial Girls Win Team Titles

Let there be no mistake to cross country runners in the Metro Atlanta area who can testify that Milton's 3 loop layout that's 99% off-road, consisting of grass, bark-chip, gravel, dirt and soft pine needle trails is the "Beast"  Course  in the State. Very unlikely anyone pr'd here as Roswell's Drew Kelley had the top time today winning the Boys Overall in 18:01 leading Roswell to the Boys team title. On the Girls side Centennial triumphed scoring 50 points. Lindsay Billings of Northview was the top lady posting an impressive 20:30 on the monster layout.

Varsity Boys

Roswell sized both the team and individual crowns as Drew Kelley had the top time today winning the Boys Overall in 18:01 leading his squad to the team title. Kelley's teamate Brandon Tardif placed 2nd in 18:03 a few strides back and Jack Hayes slipped into 8th as the Hornets stung their Fulton rivals. Host Milton had 3 runners themselves in the top 10 spots to lay claim to 2nd in the team standings led by Clay Marshall in 4th, Jack Bluth in 6th, and Kevin McGorrey in 10th. Northview came in 3rd in team scoring led by Josh Salter's 3rd place effort in 18:06. Bjorn Leicher from 2nd year program Cambridge rounded out the top 5 in 18:20.

Varsity Girls

Centennial Girls ran a great team race scoring 50 points capturing the County title. The Knights had 2 girls crack the top 10 including Maddy Peterson who was 3rd overall in 20:58 and Haley McKay a few spots back in 6th. Northview ranked #9 in 5A may move up a spot in next week's Rankings after a strong 2nd place team finish ahead of Milton. Lindsay Billings (Week 4 5A ROW) was clearly the top female leading the attack winning the Girls Overall title on "The Beast" clocking a 20:30  Anna Barefield added a 5th to help the Northview effort. Rounding out the top 5 individuals were Roswell's Rachel VanAmburgh placing 2nd in 20:52 and Riverwood's Anna Hayden placing 4th in 21:26
