Day two at NON sees Long take 3rd in 100m, Machovec goes 186\'5\" for 4th in Discus

Brittany Long capped off her excellent HS season with a 3rd place finish at the Nike Outdoor Nationals to earn All American honors. Her preliminary time of 11.65 earned her a spot in the finals just behind the much heralded Bianca Knight. Long followed up her stellar prelim run with an 11.71 in the finals to take 3rd place, an outstanding performance for the sophomore from Therrell.

In the boys discus, Israel Machovec, again topped the 180\' mark with his 186\'5\" throw in the discus to earn fourth place and All American honors. Machovec qualified for the finals out of the 2nd of 3 heats. He reached the 186\' mark on his 2nd throw of the 1st round. In the finals, Machovec cracked the 184\' barrier twice but was unable to improve on his first round throw and held on to 4th place.

In other action, Emily Borsare finished 12th with a 10:41 for the two mile. Quaneshia Cleckley, of Therrell, qualified for the finals in the 100m hurdles with her 14.06 effort, giving Therrell their 2nd national qualifier.
